The rapid growth of the Chinese shipbuilding industry had already reached Winteb. A lot of orders are being placed from the land of the rising sun. However, these orders were supplied under type approvals byWestern classification bureaus. Due to the increasing Chinese demand for the Winteb products, it was inevitable that a request would arise for the type approval of the Chinese Classification Society (CCS). This indeed occurred by the company Changzhou World Trade Co Ltd in Jiangsu, China. When placing the order at Winteb, Changzhou asked for the CCS certification for the products that were bought by them.

Because of the time pressure, it was decided that only the products for this specific order were to be approved. In near future the complete product range of Winteb will be audited by CCS, so that the official type approval can be given. Winteb’s Managing Director Albert van der Velde, claims to be very pleased about the growing order placement from China and the resulting CCS type approval request. “Being type approved by all the major classification societies, Winteb couldn’t leave this one out. It’s good to add this one to our wide range of type approvals“, says van der Velde. “It is also a very positive development that a clear increase can be observed in the order placement from China. So to add the complete CCS type approval is a good start for a flourishing trade between Winteb and Chinese buyers.”
