ATC Workshop Workboats

Date: 9 November & 9 November

Location: Rotterdam

Workboats: ‘The hybrid future’
At wednesday November 9, 14.00 hours, the third Advanced Technology Conference will take place. The workshop Workboats has the central theme: ‘The hybrid future’.

Workboats are usually high powered vessels. This power is used for certain operations and in the case of emergency. However, the total amount of time that all this power of the ship is used is fairly limited. Therefore, workboats are ideally suitable for hybrid power installations. These are combined power and storage systems, using Diesel engines for power production and batteries for storing the excess of generated power. These installations can deliver the maximum power but when only a fraction of this power is needed, the batteries can deliver the required power. The big advantages of such systems is that the fuel consumption is reduced and the Diesel engines don’t have to run on partial load, which will reduce the maintenance costs. During this workshop, the visitors will get an insight in the design and operation of hybrid workboat.

Workshop
The workshop will start with a small introduction, followed by presentations of leading companies in the Workboat industry. At the end of the seminar there is room for discussion. In just two hours, you will receive the very latest information on Workboat innovation. We look forward to a lively debate!
