ATC Workshop Inland Navigation

Date: 10 November & 10 November

Location: Rotterdam

Workshop Inland Navigation: ‘The alternative transport for the rivers of the world’
At November 10, 14.00 hours, the fifth Advanced Technology Conference will take place during Europort 2011 in Rotterdam. The workshop Inland Navigation has the central theme: ‘The alternative transport for the rivers of the world’.

In the Netherlands inland shipping plays a leading role in connecting Port of Rotterdam with the hinterland. This type of transport is a very affordable and clean way of transporting goods from A to B. Nevertheless, this concept could easily be used in many other countries to reduce the global environmental footprint and congestion of road transport. This workshop gives insight on how this kind of transport can be implemented in (new) economies and showcases the latest developments in building environmental friendly inland ships.

Workshop
The workshop will start with a small introduction, followed by presentations of leading parties in the inland shipping sector such as: Bodewes Shipyards, EICB and MARIN. At the end of the seminar there is room for discussion. In just two hours, you will receive the very latest information on inland shipping innovation. We look forward to a lively debate!
