Construction vessels: ‘The limits are yet to be made’
At November 11, 10.30 hours, the sixth Advanced Technology Conference will take place during Europort 2011. The workshop Construction vessels has the central theme: ‘The limits are yet to be made’.
Bigger, stronger, more complex multipurpose vessels are built these days. Where is the limit? Shipbuilders face new challenges in order to guarantee that the construction vessels can be used in rough environments. In addition for example cranes and winches need to be enlarged. New promising trends have showed up in deepsea mining, offshore wind and platform dismantling. Trends that encourage to go beyond the next level of operation requirements from designers point of view.
Workshop
The workshop will start with a small introduction, followed by presentations of leading companies in the construction vessel sector, such as PPG Marine Protective Coatings, Vuyk Engineering Rotterdam and DEME. At the end of the seminar there is room for discussion. In just two hours, you will receive the very latest information on construction vessel innovation. We look forward to a lively debate!
