On Thursday 3 November 2011 the sixth edition of the Maritime Awards Gala took place in Hilversum. Over 730 representatives from the maritime industry were gathered to honor the nominees and their innovations. Special guest of the evenening was mrs Thecla Bodewes, Business Woman of the Year 2011 and director-owner of Shipyard De Kaap, Bodewes Shipyards and Maritima Green Technology. By opening the Maritime Awards Gala she also officially started the first edition of the Dutch Maritime Week. From 3 till 12 November a wide range of activities is organised in order to put the spotlights on the Dutch maritime cluster.
