Amsterdam: centre of transport, trade and tourism
The Amsterdam Port area is one of the fastest growing ports in Europe. This is partly due to its great flexibility. Most of the stevedoring, warehousing, distribution and transport companies still are of a human scale. The Amsterdam Port and Airport are located only 15 kilometres from each other. Both ports of Amsterdam and Rotterdam (70 kilometres south of Amsterdam) form the Rhine Delta and offer the best possible entry to Continental Europe. The wide range of inland connections by waterway, railway and highway to Germany, Central and Eastern Europe supports that strong position.
